About the event
You are invited to the Coastwatch Citizen Science Seagrass Map 2025 launch by Minister Timmy Dooley TD, Thursday 23d October 2025, 2 to 3pm at the Lexicon Library, Dun Laoghaire, A96 H283 by the shore overlooking Ralf's seagrass meadow patches and the buoys which protect them.
Registration with light refreshments from 1.30 pm
This event is to celebrate seagrass lawns and meadows around our coast and citizens who found them; augmenting the officially recorded locations. It is also to thank those who verified the citizen reports, those who carried out seagrass health check and those who supported us.
The healthier seagrass is, the better it delivers for biodiversity and climate change mitigation. So at the event we will also consider threats, protection and restoration of this high value habitat.
